Behind the Scenes
Augusta on the leaf, the table, and the hour after dinner.
Augusta Hoffman, in her own kitchen, on how this tea came to be and how she takes hers.
The Collaboration
A MEETING OF MATERIALS
For our first collaboration, we worked with Augusta Hoffman, the New York based interior designer known for lived-in rooms and a quiet eye for material. Her sensibility runs close to ours: warm, considered, unhurried. And olive green, always.
"I was drawn to Forgrave because of their blends, their aesthetic point of view, and the experience they create around tea. This collaboration felt very natural, as the founder is a long-time friend and client. We both care about how small daily moments can feel considered and special, especially at home."

The Tea
A EUROPEAN TRADITION
Known by different names across Europe, verveine in France, erba Luigia in Italy, hierba luisa in Spain, lemon verbena has been a fixture of European tea culture for centuries, traditionally served after meals for its clean citrus profile and digestive properties. Augusta first came to it abroad. So did we.
Brew it and the citrus comes first, soft and high, then settles into something greener, closer to the leaf in the garden than to the fruit on the counter. No caffeine, no second herb, no sweetener. Augusta drinks it after dinner. We drink it all day.

The Method
MANY WAYS TO TAKE IT
Hot
Infuse 2 tsp per 8 oz of water at 195°F / 90°C. Steep 5–8 minutes. Yields one to two infusions; the second is softer, more floral.
Iced
1 tsp per 8 oz, refrigerate 6–12 hrs.
1 tsp per 8 oz in a clear jar, 2–4 hrs in direct sunlight.
1 tsp per 8 oz hot water, steep 2–5 min, pour over ice.
How Augusta Takes Hers
Hot, no sugar, in a small porcelain cup. After dinner. With the windows open if the weather allows.
Just the Facts
Caffeine-free
A true herbal tea, which means no caffeine, no theobromine, nothing keeping you up. Equally well suited to a slow morning or a late hour.
Single-origin
One leaf from one region. Hand-cut in Morocco and air-dried whole-leaf to preserve the volatile oils that give verbena its lift.
Limited release
Released in small lots for Spring/Summer 2026 in collaboration with Augusta Hoffman. When this season's harvest is gone, it's gone.

NOTES ON THE TEA
Lemon verbena is one of those leaves I've always wanted to give a stage to on its own. It speaks for itself: no chamomile, no rose, nothing needed to soften it. Augusta gave us the reason and the room.
Lemon verbena is something I started ordering after dinner while traveling in Europe. After a long meal, it always felt like the perfect way to reset. It's light, fragrant, and refreshing.
Steep the mood.
